Brazilian Lemonade


2 limes, washed, rinsed and quartered

½ cup sugar

¼ cup sweetened condensed milk

3 cups cold water

ice

limes wedges & whipped cream for garnish (optional)

Put limes, sugar, and water in a blender. Blend until limes have been shredded. Place a sieve or colander in a large bowl. Pour the shredded lime mixture in the colander, discard the lime rinds and skins. Rinse out the blender with cold water making sure that all the lime rind has been rinsed out. Return the lime juice mixture from the bowl to the blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk and approximately 1-2 cups ice, blend till ice has melted. Taste the mixture and add additional sweetened condensed milk to taste, blending after each addition. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with lime wedges, a dollop of whipped cream and a straw if desired. Serve immediately.
